Decorating woes

So Hub has a vacation next month so I want to get some painting done. Yippee!

Project 1) Our bedroom. The bedding is Tiffany blue and chocolate brown. Much like this present:

I'm going to go with a lighter Tiffany blue in the bedroom and a slightly darker shade in the bathroom, and possibly some chocolate brown up on the raised ceiling thingy but I haven't decided yet. Not the ceiling itself, but the part between the ceiling and the crown molding...whateverthehell that is called.

Project 2) My black and white and hot pink all over dining room. But...now that have the time and funds to do the project, I am having second thoughts. I definitely want the black and white curtains and accents... kinda like these:

and my original color choice was something in the hot pink/pinky-red/pinky-red-coraly family. Yes, I made up that color family.

(and while I can't find a paint swatch that looks anything like what I had in mind, take a gander at this rose and perhaps go a little darker)

Anyway...here's my problem. My kitchen which flows from the dining room on one side is painted a bright olive green color, like this:
(here's a great shot of the color from when lightning nearly blew up my house)

And my entry and living room, which adjoins the dining room on the other side, is painted this color:

  • (Incidentally, this isn't my house, but it may as well be. The fireplace looks almost identical to mine. Weird huh?)

So do you see my problem? While I *LOVE* the hot pink/black and white combo, I am not sure at all how it will flow with the rest of my colors. I know it will work with the green kitchen, but I'm concerned about the caramel on the other side.

I don't know if I should abandon the pink all together and go with a more neutral color...maybe a dark red? I KNOW that will match but I really, really, really wanted something unusual in there and I'm just not feeling the red. In fact, no, red is not an option. I want something bright and fun in there because it gets a lot of natural light.

NOTE: The rooms are not OPEN to each other...they don't share any walls... they are separated by doorways, but no doors. Make sense?

    Opinions? Anyone? Anyone? Anyone?
