First- thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes! It was a great day. Except for waking up before dawn and cleaning on my birthday, of course.

Friday night was DEF LEPPARD, and I just have to say it was the best concert I've ever been to. These dudes are getting ancient and they still rock like nobodies business. Incidentally, Phil Collen, who is about to turn 51, is a hottie. He did the entire show sans shirt- and he is smokin'.

He looks way better now than when he looked like this:

Like I said, the show was amazing. And since it was Joe Elliot's birthday, he asked if anyone else in the audience was having a birthday!  I got to go up on stage and do a pole dance to Pour Some Sugar on Me. It was pretty much amazing.

Ok, so that part only happened in my head.

More highlights of the evening (that actually happened) included sitting behind 6 of the most annoying women I have ever encountered in my  entire life. That is saying a lot considering that most people that I come into contact with annoy me. These girls, first of all, were not even old enough to know who Def Leppard is. They spent the ENTIRE night taking pictures of....themselves.  Each of these twits had their own digital camera and they took, I am not kidding, hundreds of pictures. Not of Def Leppard. Of themselves. Themselves acting drunk and stupid and making ridiculous "rock out"  hand gestures and sticking out their tongues, presumably because they were at a rock concert and had to have the obligatory shot like this: (Gene Simmons & Rachael Ray not included)

Eventually my friend started photobombing them, so when they get home and upload their 8 million pictures up on Facebook they are going to wonder who the hell that crazy lady is behind them giving them jazz hands. I suspect their captions will go something like this...
Here we are at Def Leppard!
Here's a picture of us pretending to lick each other during Rocket!
Here's a picture of us pretending to be lesbians during Hysteria!
Here's a picture of us pressing our butts up together during Foolin.
...and so on.

Anyway. I wore ridiculously cute new shoes, a gift from my friend who also attended the show with me. I really loved them, until we had to walk 5 blocks back to the car after standing up for 3 hours. Now I have Snoopy Band-Aids all over my feet.

My mom is in town now. We went shopping yesterday because I got a bunch of gift cards for my birthday and because it's tax-free in Tennessee this weekend. I got some major shopping done, including 2 summer dresses, several shirts, some new unmentionables, lots of new casual jewelry, and a pair of kick ass hot pink espadrilles/wedges...not sure exactly what they would be classified as, and of course I can't find a picture of them.

Hub and I went out last night for my birthday. We saw Step Brothers. It was pretty hilarious.

Nothing else to report...

Good news.

Say, Whitehousemom, what will you be doing on your 31st birthday this year?

Oh! I'm glad you asked. I'll be teasing my hair and dancing on my chair to Pour Some Sugar on Me and my personal favorite, Hysteria. Live. That's right. You know you're jealous.

Incidentally, I share a birthday with Joe Elliott. I will bring him a cake. And I will possibly be in it.
