I haven't been in a writing mood lately. I don't know what my problem is. I'm going to try to overcome it. I don't think I really have anything all that interesting to say, so I'll review several movies I've seen lately. I was going to do this yesterday but I didn't feel like it never got around to it.
Waitress:

I loved this movie. I don't really know why. It could be because I was bored out of my mind one night while Hub was working, or because I had a love affair with Felicity back in the late 90's...or because I love pie. Who doesn't love pie? Incidentally, if I ever have another baby boy, I'm seriously considering naming him Noel...directly because I loved Noel on Felicity so much (and because I think it's a cool name)...but I'm struggling here...is every teacher going to call him "No-el"(as in The First) instead of the correct "Nole" or am I over thinking?
Movie-ng on (get it?) ...Hancock:

I watched this on the recommendation of
pinkpiper222 . It was supposed to be a date-ish type thing with the Hub, but as usual, he fell asleep within the first 13 minutes....so I watched it by myself. I liked it. It was full of people that I liked...The Fresh Prince, Charlize, and Jason Bateman....who I adore. It resurrected my deep-rooted desire to be a superhero. If I was, I'd probably be one like Hancock...drunk or full of pills and basically a menace to society...but I'm a badass superhero, so nobody can do anything about it. Anyway- another Thumbs Up from
whitehousemom . It's not epic or tragic or thought-provoking...it's just mindless and fun to watch. Kinda like me.
Last but not least, an actual MOVIE movie, as in, ridiculously expensive, complete with snacks that cost more than my first car. Marley & Me:

Despite the fact that I am generally not an Owen Wilson fan, I loved this movie. Usually I watch his movies and am so distracted by his wonky nose that I can't even focus on the movie. Instead, I wonder why his nose looks like that, why he doesn't want to fix it, and then spend at least half the time staring at his face and thinking of inanimate objects that his nose resembles. So, instead of seeing Owen Wilson brilliantly acting, I just see a blond guy with a autumnal gourd stuck to his face. Then there is the matter of the way he talks, kind of like he has a gourd shoved up his nose.
Shnaz aside..good movie. This was a good character fit for him. I was entirely annoyed at Jennifer Aniston's perfection in the film, even during the depths of depression and loss...but oh well, this is Hollywood I suppose.
I liked this movie for many reasons:
1. It's about a cute, mischievious yellow lab.
2. I have a cute, mischievious yellow lab.
3. It's about a guy who writes a funny newspaper column.
4. I used to write a funny newspaper column.
5. I got to look at McSteamy.
6. It gave me a little hope, that maybe someday, I could actually do something with my writing. Maybe.
7. It made me realize how much I love my dog.

Even though he's an enormous, obnoxious, trash-ransacking, smelly and shedding beast, I love him. He's sweet and gentle, and he loves us...and by comparison, is a MUCH better dog than Marley. I mean, he's a lab and he never chewed up my shoes or ate a DVD player. I would say we're pretty lucky. No, he's not a watch dog and he'd probably sleep through someone invading our house and slaughtering us during the night, but when I'm sad he lays his gigantic head on my lap...and that's pretty cool. Also, I never have to pick up the food that LG throws spills on the floor. He's my own personal Roomba. If only he ate his own shedded hair.
